Brewing and Distilling Quarter
The number of microbreweries operating in the Republic of Ireland has more than trebled since 2012, with over 70 now in operation, underscoring the public’s newfound love for craft beer.
The output of craft beer by production microbreweries amounted to some 134,000 hectolitres (hl) in 2015. This represents a 56% increase on the 2014 figure of 86,000hl.*
And with Craft Beer still accounting for only 3.4% of beer consumption in Ireland against an international average of 10% to 15% – there is huge potential for further growth in sales.
To develop this product line, however, publicans need to develop an understanding of the brands and product options.
Brewing and Distilling Quarter is a unique, and cost effective, opportunity for publicans and licenced business owners to meet brewers and sample current craft beer options.
