Brew Expo 2018
The number of microbreweries operating in the Republic has more than trebled since 2012, with over 70 now in operation, underscoring the public’s newfound love for craft beer.
There has been a 29% increase in the number of production microbreweries from 48 in 2015 to 62 in 2016. The number of microbreweries has more than quadrupled since 2012 – 33 of the 62 production microbreweries commenced production in 2014-201
The output of craft beer by production microbreweries amounted to some 134,000 hectolitres (hl) in 2015. This represents a 56% increase on the 2014 figure of 86,000hl.*
And with Craft Beer still accounting for only 3.4% of beer consumption in Ireland against an international average of 10% to 15% – there is huge potential for further growth.
To develop sustainable and volume business, however, craft brewers need to develop channels of distribution into trade and retail outlets.
Brew Expo is a unique, and cost effective, opportunity for craft brewers to meet and do business with up to 3,000 proprietors and decision makers from the Hospitality Sector at what will be the industry’s largest trade show in 2018.
Hospitality Expo (formerly Vintra) takes place over three halls in the RDS Dublin on 6th – 7th February 2018.
Brew Expo will be a show within a show at this well-established trade event. When last held 91% of 200 exhibitors responding said their participation had been worthwhile or very worthwhile – not surprising given the 3,000 + trade visitors in attendance, 72% of whom had purchasing authority.
